California Literacy Achievement Specialist

McGraw-Hill Education has an opening for an experienced,innovative, and strategic CaliforniaLiteracy Achievement Specialist. Reportingto the National Manager for the West Region, the California Literacy AchievementSpecialist will be responsible for marketing and selling a specializedportfolio of instructional content and applications to school districts inCalifornia, with an emphasis on the Intervention, Acceleration, and SpecialEducation markets.
This is a remote position, ideally located in, or near, a major city inCalifornia, with close proximity to an airport.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Developing interdependent partnerships with high-level school districtadministrators to improve levels of student achievement.
Providing districts with Achievement Analysis Plans for the purpose of identifyingachievement gaps and proposing solutions to move students to levels ofproficiency.
Generating revenue by developing sales strategies and action plans for targetaccounts.
Strategically tracking activity in targeted accounts and accurately forecastingopportunities.
Working with the VP of Specialized Markets, Achievement Solutions Group Manager,California District Managers and Sales Reps to seek out funding opportunities. anddevelop sales strategies for specialized markets
Work with the principal internal stakeholders to provideinput on ASG product presentations and selling tools.
Responsible for product mastery in the form of informal and formal presentationskills.
Responsible for driving attendance of key decision-makers in targeted accountsto events that include the Achievement Solutions Group portfolio.
What you'll need to be successful:
Strong desire to change the lives of California's struggling readers.
Proven success in educational sales- Calling on district level administrators.
Knowledge of the specialized markets (Title I, Special Education, ESSA).
Knowledge of Direct Instruction and/or Open Court Reading.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Excellent listening, synthesizing and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as a team player and relate to internal andexternal customers.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word,PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Salesforce.
Must be focused, disciplined, and have sales skills needed to "close"business.
Extensive Travel (75% travel).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
